Description
the coral shrub is found growing( 6ft-10ft) along riverbanks and swamps. Its therapeutic leaves and milky sap function as an antimicrobial wound-healer and skin parasitic defense in traditional folk medicine. The guanandi tree (60ft-160ft) populates the same habitat. Its bitter inner bark is boiled into medicinal teas to heal gastrointestinal ulcers, while its thick yellow latex is used topically to cauterize open cuts and treat warts.
