Traditionally used by the Kamayura and Tupi-Guarani peoples, it’s made from the bark ash of the vibrant pink/purple blossomed ipê tree.
The Ipê Roxo tree is found growing in the savanna. Its inner bark have been used for a “cure all” remedy for centuries. It was used in wound healing, joint care and immune fortification. Because the wood of the Ipê tree is structurally one of the heaviest, densest timbers on Earth, burning it creates an incredibly mineral-rich, high-alkaline purple-tinged gray ash.
