Description
The Shanenawa derive their name from the shane, an exceptionally elusive blue canopy bird that historically served as an advanced territorial alarm system. Because this isolated bird only took flight when massive human movement disrupted the forest, its rare sightings warned ancestral elders that outside invaders were actively advancing through the brush. By calling themselves the “Blue Bird People,” the tribe permanently honored this sentinel creature as their ultimate spiritual protector whose timely warnings preserved their village from surprise warfare.
